Slimer
Occer’s own enticing brand of deep minimal infused techno really comes across on his latest release for Kaleidoscopic Earth, ‘Slimer’. The vast sonic landscape of ‘Slimer’ has something very alien about its nature and this is reflected on the releases artwork. The track opens with otherworldly glitch sounds followed by a swirling buzz moving left and right, leaving the listener feeling lost and bewildered until a hard hitting, four to the floor kick comes in and suddenly you know where you are again. The filthy, intergalactic synths don’t stop however reminding you that this is no ordinary dance music despite being grounded by the kick. Around the 2 minute mark the groove really sets in with offbeat claps, rhythmically significant delays and a sub bass you can feel in your soul. At this point even the most heavy footed dancefloor inhabitant would struggle not to move to this. With his latest release, Occer has proved once again to be a forward thinking tour de force in the EDM scene and ‘Slimer’ is his dancefloor filler from another planet.
